The Echo Circus is an impressive split between convoluted electronica and sheer dancability. Melodically engrossed, harmonically idiosyncratic with elastic arrangements. Rhythmically, simplicity and complexity are close – what might sound contradictive is feasible on a record that combines the atmospheres of the Amazon and that of a French piano bar – in one and the same track.
